Nepal is getting popular as the tourist destination gradually in the world. This Himalayan country experienced 18% rise in the number of tourist visited Nepal in October 2007 compared to the same period of last year. Nepal Tourism Board revealed that 43,468 visitors toured Nepal in October this year whereas the number was 36,857 in October last year. However, the number of visitors from India has fallen down slightly by 4% in October this year.
In order to attract more visitors from India, different airlines are trying to increase the number of flights from India to Nepal. Despite the fall in the number of Indian visitors, Nepal’s tourism sector has been boost up with an increase of 30%.
The Economic Times reported:
The Indian visitors declined from 2006 October's 6,606 by four per cent to 4,799 in October this year.
Aiming to increase the number of Indian arrivals in the Himalayan nation Cosmic Air, a private airlines, has already resumed its service between Kathmandu and New Delhi and other airlines are expected to increase flight frequency in this sector soon, said NTB.
SilkAir from Singapore and Etihad Airways based on United Arab Emirates have launched their services in Nepal in October. This will also help to make Nepal more accessible for many tourists. So, Nepal government should give much more importance on this sector.

Nepal is a picturesque country. So, I am not surprised at the news that the number of tourists is increasing day by day. I agree with you that Nepal government should give more importance on tourism sector.
