Inflation is not good for any economy. For Sri Lankan economy, it is even worse as the country is suffering from various problems. The on going civil war is not helping the country’s economy at all. In fact, the civil war is destroying the economy of Sri Lanka.

Now, Sri Lankan government has to think of a number of things. Besides the civil war, the government has to provide a lot of money for its welfare programs. So, the government has to print more to tackle the situation.

In October 2007, inflation reached to  24.1 which is not a matter of joke.
