India will meet Australia in the final of CB Series. Australia confirmed their berth of CB series final earlier, while India secured a place of final with an excellent seven-wicket victory over Sri Lanka yesterday. Thus Sri Lanka crushed out of the tournament with a match at hand. Australia takes on India in the first of the best of three final on 2 March 2008. All the matches will be day/night.

India experienced some inspirational performances in the match against Sri Lanka. Star batsman Sachin Tendulkar has come back in form with an impressive knock of 63 off 54 balls. Pacer Praveen Kumar’s four wicket haul came as a huge boost for India’s pace attack. Gautam Gambhir continued his superb form with another half century. So, these are the things seem to boost up the confidence level of India ahead of the final showdown with Australia.

Australian captain Ricky Ponting seems to have got over his patchy form with a brilliant century against India in the last match. It has come as a big relief for Australian team. India drafted a young side in the tournament with some experienced players in the squad. Though India’s performance was satisfactory so far in the tri series, it would not be easy for India to secure the CB Series trophy from Australia at their own soil. However, Indian players can take inspiration from last year’s CB Series where Australia failed to win the trophy being defeated by England in the final.
