Population growth is perhaps the number one problem for South Asia. Feeding a huge population has become a major cause of concern for almost all the countries in this region. Nepal has a population growth of 2.2%.

It is a burden for a poor country.

Women suffer most from this kind of condition. Early marriage for teenage girls, early motherhood and death of mothers while giving birth to babies- all these are common by products of such a condition. The good news is that Nepal is fighting back against population growth and the country has seen some positive results.  

There has been significant improvement in Total Fertility Rate (TFR). The good thing is that the improvement has mainly come in the rural areas. Teenage pregnancies are decreasing too.
