Of course, it is late for Bangladesh but it is surely better late than never. I have been writing about Information Technology in Bangladesh for nearly one decade. In fact, I wrote a cover story about Call Center in October 2004. It was published in the monthly ICT magazine Computer Bichitra. At that time, there were some big obstacles about call centers in Bangladesh.

Now, the government has removed all the obstacles about call centers in Bangladesh and very soon, licenses of call centers will be issued to the entrepreneurs. Call center owners would receive some other facilities too.
A lot of credit goes to Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC). The Chairman of BTRC Major General Manzurul Alam (retired) has taken some important steps to help the growth of ICT sector in Bangladesh. First, VOIP was legalized and now, call center. There is more to come. These steps will not only help the people but also will increase the revenue of Bangladesh government from ICT sector.
