The day four of the ongoing first test between India and South Africa started with lots of hopes among the cricket fans. It could have been one of the memorable days in test cricket history as Virender Sehwag was eyeing on Brian Lara’s record highest test innings of 400. With Sehwag going back to the pavilion at 319, all hopes evaporated. India’s first innings ended at 627 runs as the other Indian batsmen could not build a huge lead on that platform as they fell on the regular interval. However, Rahul Dravid went on to hit another hundred during which he entered into the 10,000 run club of test cricket.
Dale Steyn bowled very well taking four wickets, while Makhaya Ntini and Paul Harris took three wickets each. South African batsmen also started off well as they reached 131 for 1 at the stumps of the day with Neil McKenzie and Hashim Amla being not out at 59 and 35 respectively.
So, at the fifth and final day, the spectators in the stadium can only hope for a draw.
