We just sold the Mumbai franchise for almost the same amount of money, and the team doesn't even exist yet. Then you can compare the players: Andrew Symonds is making £100,000 a week for the duration of the tournament, Mahendra Singh Dhoni even more than that. Tell me who in the Premier League earns as much? Maybe Frank Lampard, maybe Cristiano Ronaldo. But not many.
I am happy that cricketers are going to earn that much money but the tragedy is that IPL is going to make only some cricketers rich (not even more than 250 cricketers). What about the other cricketers? Will BCCI put some more money for helping cricketers in the grass root level?
