In the western countries, the days of cathode ray tube televisions (CRT TVs) are almost gone and most TV companies are now focusing on modern and advanced technology like LCD, Plasma and so on. Sony is a big player in the global television industry and it has a strong presence in India too.

Sony has decided to keep producing ray tube televisions (CRT TVs) for India. Many people living in big cities in India are no longer fan of ray tube televisions (CRT TVs) as the continuous economic growth has increased their ability to spend some more money on their television sets. However, poor people and lower middle class people are still fan of CRT TVs simply because CRT TVs are much cheaper. So, Sony is going to continue to cater this market.

This is a smart decision from Sony as the size of Indian market is really big when it comes to Television.
