Summer is the most crucial season for South Asian countries like Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, India. Because of the rising demand of electricity, power crisis starts. Frequent load-shedding becomes a very common affair. Currently, Pakistan is facing a power shortage of 3200 MW and it will not be possible to increase the domestic power generation till 2010. According to Pakistan Electric Power Company (PEPCO), there will be only four hours of load-shedding. In reality, it has been extended to eight hours. At such a critical stage, buying electricity from Tajikistan could be a good decision on Pakistan government’s part.
