Nepal: Count Down to Election 2008

All the people in Nepal are eagerly waiting for Election 2008 which is going to take place on 10 April. Nepalese government has declared 5 day long holiday to ensure that the polls can be held peacefully. I found a report in BBC titled: Nepal Maoists seek election backing. I saw another report in AP titled: Nepal Prepares for End of Monarchy.

These are two things that many people are now talking about at least in the media. If the Maoist can capture power through the election then what will happen to Nepal? Will the Maoists try to suppress other political parties in the country? On the other hand, if monarchy is abolished then what will happen? Will the supporters of the King (especially the army) start protesting?

In the next few days, we will try to seek the answers to these questions.
