Teletalk is the government owned mobile phone company in Bangladesh. Of all the six mobile phone operators, Teletalk is considered to be the weakest and it has least number of subscribers. Bangladesh government is contemplating on the idea of making some changes in Teletalk operation and business. SK Telecom of South Korea is interested to buy 49 percent share of Teletalk.
If SK Telecom can buy 49 percent of Teletalk then it will perhaps be a good thing for Teletalk. Teletalk needs a lot of cash for more efficient operating. In fact, Teletalk has only some more than one million subscribers. On the other hand, the largest mobile operator in Bangladesh, Grameen Phone has nearly 18 million subscribers. This shows that Teletalk is far behind than the other mobile players.

The news is really good. If it become true then it will be good for the users. Especially a revelation for Bangladeshi telecom sector
