Many couples in Europe and America are childless and they want to adopt a child. This is natural instinct of human beings and there is nothing wrong in it. They mainly adopt children from Asian and African countries. Nepal is such a country that supplies orphan children to the western world for adoption. Well, there were a lot of allegations of corruptions in the adoption process and Nepal government even stopped adoption of Nepalese children one year ago. The good news is that Nepal government has changed some rules and is going to allow couples to adopt children from Nepal.
Times of India wrote:
Before the ban was imposed last June, dozens of private orphanages around Kathmandu allowed would-be adopters to visit and choose the child they wanted to adopt, another practise the official said had now been ended.
"There won't be any middlemen involved in the process and adopting parents can no longer choose the children directly by visiting orphanages," the official said.
Under the new rules approved at the end of last month, prospective parents have to apply though their respective embassies or an authorised international adoption agency in their home country, the official said.
This is good news for both the childless couples and the orphan children.
