Kolkata Knight Riders got a lot of media coverage because Shah Rukh Khan is the owner of the club. Well, the media attention may be good for generating revenue but has not proved good for the performance of the club. Kolkata Knight Riders was considered to be the third richest club in IPL and it has failed to reach the semi finals of IPL 2008.
A lot of blame is going to the coach of the club, John Buchanan. Buchanan is an experienced coach and he is perhaps the most successful coach of Australian national team. Under his coaching, Australian national team experienced huge success. So, many people are a bit surprised that why Buchanan failed to inspire Kolkata Knight Riders players for IPL 2008.
John Buchanan is now under pressure from everyone and he has expressed his determination to make Kolkata Knight Riders next season. Well, I guess that he will have to wait 11 months for that.
