After the recently concluded general election, the Maoists have emerged as the most powerful force in the new parliament. They did not win an outright majority but it is now almost certain that they will lead the new government. The Maoists have called for the removal of King Gyanendra and abolishing of monarchy. On the other hand, King Gyanendra is determined to stay in power.
There is report that King Gyanendra is trying to talk to top Maoist leaders and find a solution to the problem. The King has the backing of the army and that is why, he is still safe and sound and in power. However, he has also realized that if he cannot get the support of some political parties then it will be impossible for him to survive.

That sounds good. Nepalese people do not want to go back to their nightmarish days when innocent people were killed due to the conflict between King Gyanendra and the Maoists. Now, Maoists have come to the power and naturally, they are interested to abolish monarchy system in the country.
Whatever happens between Maoists and the King, I just hope that no other conflict will emerge so that people can live in peace and I think, it would be good if King and Maoist leaders can sit together and resolve the problem. Surely, Nepalese people are eagerly waiting for this.
