Do you remember Chak de India? It was a successful Bollywodo film of 2007. Shahrukh Khan was the hero of this film and he played the role of a coach of Indian female hockey team in the movie. In Chak de India, Shahrukh Khan inspired his team to become champion. The message of Chak de India was that glory for the game and country should come first and money should never come first.
It seems that Shah Rukh Khan forgot this lesson in IPL and he was too much concerned with money and marketing than the game itself. There was some media reports that Shah Rukh Khan had some problems with Sourav Ganguly.

According to reports, Dada and SRK are not seeing eye to eye on many issues. What prompted the split was apparently Ganguly's refusal to talk to West Bengal Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharya on Shah Rukh's behalf to try and get the entertainment tax that King Khan is paying at the Eden Gardens abolished.
There are reportedly other differences between the two as well, ranging from team selection to Dada's displeasure at SRK's apparent thoughts of going in for a rotational captaincy. The two also differed on the team composition, right from the player auctions in February. Ganguly apparently wanted more batsmen in the team, while SRK persisted on having a bowling-heavy team. SRK has now sought an appointment with the West Bengal CM to talk to him personally about the enetertainment tax issue.
Well, Shah Rukh Khan and coach John Buchanan have both denied that there was any rift between Ganguly and SRK. However, I feel that SRK should never have interfered about team selection. Thus, I guess that Shahrukh Khan should learn from the role he played in Chak de India. This will help him do better in IPL 2009 after 11 months.
