Dhoni is the captain of Indian ODI team. Last week, India lost arch rival Pakistan in the final match of Kitply Cup in Dhaka, Bangladesh. So, Indian fans felt disappointed and now, they hope that Dhoni can inspire and lead his team to success in Asia Cup 2008. Dhoni is confident that India can do well in the tournament.

The Hindu wrote:

"We have done well on the last tour to Pakistan (2006), but that's in the past and has no relevance now. I agree with Muthaiah Muralitharan's views (expressed recently that India were favourites) to the extent that if we play to our capabilities we can win the Asia Cup," the flamboyant wicket-keeper-batsman said before the team left for Karachi on Sunday.

"But we will have to be our best and I hope we can do it," he added.

If India becomes champion then it will be good for him. However, if India fails to reach the final of Asia Cup 2008 then many fans will get disappointed. The media will start questioning his captaincy. Indian people are extremely passionate about cricket and Dhoni knows it very well.
