Umar Gul is just 25 years old and he has played in 25 ODI matches for Pakistan. However, he is no considered to be the main strike bowler for Pakistan. Well, the bad news is that Umar Gul is injured and he wont be able to play in any other match of Asia Cup 2008. This will surely make Pakistani bowling attack weak. They have already lost to India.

Reuters wrote:

Pakistan pace bowler Umar Gul has been ruled out of the remainder of the Asia Cup one-day tournament because of a rib cage muscle injury, chief selector Salahuddin Ahmed said on Friday.

"Gul has been advised to rest for 10 days to two weeks so he won't be playing the remaining part of the tournament," Ahmed told Reuters.

Gul limped off the field after bowling just eight balls in Thursday's loss to India.

This is not the first time, Omar Gul got injured. He should take of himself more. He should get a long rest after Asia Cup so that he can be fully fut during Champions Trophy 2008.
