Famous accounting firm, PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), has published a report about the Entertainment and Media Industry of various countries around the world. The reports contain detailed analysis and forecasts about the entertainment and media sector in the next five years. Titled “‘Global Entertainment and Media Outlook 2008-2012,” it says that the Indian entertainment and media (E&M) sector will observe the fastest growth in the Asia Pacific region in the next five years which will be fueled by rapid economic growth and opening up of E&M markets.
India will also be the focus of intense collaboration and investment by many of the world’s leading E&M companies. The Indian E&M sector will witness double-digit annual growth in every segment except recorded music, professional books, and consumer and educational book publishing.
The PwC report pegs global CAGR at 6.6 per cent for the sector, anticipating it reaching $2.2 trillion in 2012.
This report was jointly prepared by The Federation of Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) and (PwC) for the upcoming FICCI-FRAMES 2008, which is the biggest event of the Indian entertainment industry. The report contains analysis and forecasts on major industry segments such as, television, filmed entertainment, print media, and radio.
