It was expected that Ajantha Mendis will be awarded his test debut against India in the series. In fact, Sri Lanka’s miracle spinner has had his debut today, though he is yet to come in action in the test. On the rain-curtailed first day, Sri Lanka elected to bat first after winning the toss- thus giving no chance to Mendis to come on action today. Sri Lanka could score 85 runs losing two wickets at the end of day.
