Nepal is one of the poorest countries in the world and most people here have to depend on agriculture. Well, according to a report in BBC News, many people in village areas in Nepal are now suffering from food price. Many of them do not have enough to eat everyday. Women and children are more vulnerable to the condition. During the winter, Nepal suffered from small amount of rain and that had a negative impact on the harvest. So, many people in the village areas are now suffering from food shortage. They are very poor and they can not afford to buy rice and other food items from the market. You know that the price of rice and other food items have increased a lot in the international market and it has affected Nepal too.

Nepal’s neighbor India has stopped exporting rice. Nepal also increased the price of diesel and petrol a lot because of growing increase in oil price in the international market. So, it is causing a chain affect to the Nepalese economy. According to the United Nations World Food Program (WFP), more than 2 million people in Nepal need support of food at this moment. I hope that Nepalese government can mange the situation and provide better supply of food for the rural people.
