In an interview with The Asian News.co.uk, Anees Bazmee talks about Singh is Kinng.
What prompted you to repeat the Akshay-Katrina combination in ‘Singh Is Kinng’?
I narrated the script to Akshay over the phone and he agreed instantly. He loved the concept. I had worked with Katrina (Kaif) in ‘Welcome’ earlier and share a great comfort level with her. Even my producer (Vipul Shah) has done ‘Namastey London’ with her. She fit the role to the tee anyway, so we were more than happy to have her back. If that isn’t enough, the audience loves the Akshay-Katrina combination on screen. It’s always worked at the box-office.
Singh is Kinng is the fourth comedy movie of Anees Bazmee. When asked about the reason behind working in so many comedy movies, Anees replied that he is not only interested in comedy movies. He worked in romantic movie like Pyaar To Hona Hi Tha and Deewangee was a thriller. After Singh is Kinng, Anees will work in another romantic movie starring Harman Baweja and Genelia D'Souza.
