High profit in Indian share market: The party is over?
The investors in Indian share market had surely felt a sigh of relief after the Bombay 30-share Sensex index gained 341 points thanks to strong buying tendency from domestic investors, especially mutual funds. Still, like many observers I am not totally satisfied with the condition. There is no guarantee that tomorrow the market will not again go down. The market is perhaps more volatile than it should be and this is something that will make many investors worried. Last year, foreign investors invested $10.7bn in the Indian share market and it encouraged many Indians to spend money too. The foreign investors have perhaps only one thing in mind- to make the best profit within the shortest possible time and then go to another new country where share market is growing very fast. Of course, I see nothing wrong in it as this is how investors work and if someday I enter into share market I will perhaps do the same.

My worry is for the ordinary people. There are many families in India who have invested in share market and they maintain their family expenses with the small earning. When market crashed in the last few days, the police in some parts of India were on alert to avert the possible suicide attempts of some investors who have lost a lot. Hopefully, no one will commit suicide as things are better now.

suicide?
I think the police has taken the right action. In situation like that, people can do crazy thing ( because lost of money ).

Well market share is like a gambling ( with more complex calculation ), you can be a big winner or just a big spender.

Hello, thanks for visiting my blog visual radio.

"Razib Ahmed said...Thanks for stopping by my blog Asianbiz. I have another blog too called SouthAsiaBiz and here I cover regularly about INternet and mobile phone related issues. I liked your this post about Video on demand and I can tell you that this market will have a huge increase in the next 5 years and much of the growth will come from India and China. Recently, Jerry Yang has predicted that India will become one of the top 3 internet markets in the next 5 years."

You're absolutely right. These new low cost narrowcasting, podcasting and globalcasting tools will open up a completely new world vision.

Consider I sit here in a smalla town in southeastern part of Finland in front of my lapto, and you cover the same kind of issues in South East Asia. Wow. Internet and the emerging social collaboration platforms (Web 2.0) will give us so many new ways to interect, innovate and create that hopefully will lead to a better world for all of us.

Yours sincerely

Razib thanks for visiting my blog and commenting.

It is really very shocking news that people may commit suicide after being faced a huge financial problem. Yes, I am agree with you that peopl from middle class family or who has a low income to live in can make something like tha because most of the time they have no chance to be got out of these loss. Besides, it is als0 true that share market can fall in sometime due to some financial or other problem. For example, American share market also went down for a couple of weeks after the 9/11. However, this is a good news that Indian share market is now in the right track. I hope that it will be continuing in the coming days.

Perhaps it's about time investors should think in terms of long term efficiency. I'm just wondering what changes will happen if they start doing so.

Yes, you are right share market is very volatile and it is not the rich that suffers. Middle class and lower middle class families who invest alot of money suffer from the fall of share market.
