2 billion viewers is a huge figure for any sporting event. BCCI is expecting that more than 2 billion people will watch World Cup Cricket 2011 by television. Today, Inderjit Singh Bindra of BCCI said, "Traffic will come to a stop in the four countries in 2011. There will be more than a billion (TV) viewers in the sub-continent, and another billion in the rest of the world." Yes, it is really possible that one billion (even more) people from South Asia will enjoy World Cup Cricket 2011. If you are skeptic about the other one billion then just think of the huge South Asian community living in USA and the Middle East.
Inderjit Singh Bindra made the presentation for the Asian bloc in the ICC board meeting a few days ago. He said that cricket is almost a religion and South Asia and 2011 tournament would be the biggest and the best ever and it would take cricket to a new era. However, in Asia, football (soccer) is still the most popular game and World Cup Football still attracts many more viewers than World Cup Cricket. BCCI is hoping that this is going to gradually change with World Cup Cricket 2011.
Bangladesh, India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka are going to jointly host World Cup Cricket 2011.

ICC I kindly request you to make CRICKET permanantly 20TWENTY because nowadays CRICKET fans are becoming lesser and lesserin CRICKET.But it is improving in other countries like KENYA,CANADA,U.S.A,NETHERLAND,IRELAND etc.But it is becoming lower and lower in contries like INDIA,WESTINDIES,AUSTRALIA etc.People have to spend a day long to watch a CRICKET MATCH they have to sacrifice their work to watch it.If you make it permanantly 20TWENTY the fans will improve equal to FOOTBALL .And also donot get money for broadcasting .AND defenately you can improve CRICKET.
