![]() When everything seemed to start going right for Nepal, the country now faces the grim prospect of labor unrest and if morning really shows the day then I must say that Nepalese economy is going to suffer badly in the next few months. Yesterday, many industries in Nepal got closed after trade unions belonging to the major parties demanded for higher salary and facilities for the workers. The trade union leaders are demanding that the minimum wage should be increased by 3 times. They are also demanding that the industries make the part time and seasonal workers as permanent and give them all the facilities.
On the other hand, the industrialists feel that such demands are impossible to meet and they are closing down factories one after another. They feel that a bad syndicate is behind this problem as the members of this bad syndicate are importing cheap goods from China and flooding the Nepalese market. At this moment, the problem is limited to some areas in the country but it seems that it will spread in all parts of Nepal within a few days.
Well, I feel that all the leaders of all the major political parties in Nepal should come forward and try to solve this problem without any delay. Otherwise, if labor unrest spread in all parts of the country then it can destroy the Nepalese economy within a very short time.
