
Japanese sewing machine producing company Juki, is now planning to build up a strong image in the Indian market. Juki produces sewing machine for garments and households. The company also specializes in surface mounting technology (SMT).
Ten years ago, Juki started its business in India with its liaison offices in Bangalore and New Delhi. In the last few years, the company had a 30-40% cumulative growth rate. Now the company has offices in seven major Indian cities. It has also set up a manufacturing plant in India.
The company has already placed itself as a leading supplier of sewing machines for the garments companies in India, occupying 25% of the market.
As the quota system has been expunged in 2005, the garments sector of India registered a significant amount of growth. Cashing on this growth of the garments sector, Juki Machinery is now targeting a 30% growth with a profit of Rs. 400 million in the next fiscal year.
