
Tourism is the major foreign exchange earning sector of Nepal and it incurred a huge loss due to political instability in previous years. After coming to power, the Nepalese government restructured its tourism sector. This year, the government is expecting a huge influx of tourists.
Nepal’s peak tourist season starts from October. After monsoon, the weather becomes temperate which is ideal for tourists and trekkers. According to the report published in Zee News, the manager of Shangri La Hotel, Babita Pandey said that ninety percent of their hotel rooms had been booked for the next three months.
Nepal is home to seven of the top ten mountains of the worlds. Lumbini, the birth place of Lord Buddha, is listed as one of the world heritage sites. Nepal’s tourism sector offers a wide range tour packages including: adventure tourism, sports tourism, pilgrimage tourism and wildlife tourism. New concepts like eco tourism and village tourism are becoming very popular.
Nepal is known as an underdeveloped country. It is small and does not have much resource. This political stability is a blessing for Nepalese people. Let us hope and pray that this stability continues for a long time.
