Wife Beating: A Royal Family’s Favorite Hobby
The members of royal families often have no work to do and they indulge themselves into expensive hobbies. They make the headlines of the media for their luxurious life style. Well, I guess hardly any royal family makes the headline for torturing women in our time. It seems that Nepalese royal family has successfully defeated every other royal family in the civilized world in terms making the media headlines for violence against women.

Nepalese Crown Prince Paras should be given a special medal for abusing his wife, Himani. He one time acted so cruelly with her that she needed to visit hospital and it created a rumor that Himani had died. To put an end to the rumor, the couple had to make a public appearance together. After Princess Dianna died, her fans were furious with Prince Charles for his cruel behavior to Diana. Of course, Prince Charles did not beat Diana. To give you an idea about the cruelty of Prince Paras, I am quoting from a report of Daily India:
After a tiff with her at a trendy disco in the capital, the heir to the throne pulled out his gun and fired shots in the air. Another altercation between the couple, which necessitated a visit to the military hospital in Kathmandu by the crown princess, triggered a rumour that she had been killed.

The rumour spread like wildfire, making the palace send out the couple on a visit to a public place so that the state media could cover it and prove she was alive.”
Well, it seems that Prince Paras has a serious contender for the royal championship of abusing wife. His sister’s husband, Raj Bahadur Singh, is trying his best to defeat him for this award. Raj was an ordinary man before marrying Princess  Prerana. After marrying her, he became one of the richest and most influential men in Nepal. He was a dedicated son-in-law to King Gyanendra and together they ruined the Nepalese economy through corruption and abuse of power. Raj might have been a very good son-in-law and partner in corruption but he is a terrible husband. I am quoting from the same report:
According to the Jana Aastha weekly, Singh, who married Princess Prerana three years ago in a fairy-tale wedding reported by the media worldwide, has ended the honeymoon and taken to laying hands on her.

Last week, when members of the royal family gathered to celebrate Teej, a women's festival, fresh evidence of Singh's abuse was discovered, the weekly said.

As the women were helping one another put on their gladrags and make-up for the festival, they discovered lacerations on the married princess' head. They also found her hair had been pulled out by the root in clumps, the weekly said.”

Well, King Gyanendra is too busy with online gambling and he has little time to notice that his only daughter is being beaten by Raj.

Violence against women is a common matter in Nepalese society. However, the members of the royal family should be the role models for their people not the law breakers. Until now, media was not free in Nepal. Now, because of press freedom, we have this kind of reports in the media. I guess soon we will see reports about more members of the Nepalese royal family whose most favorite hobby is abusing their wives.

This Razib Ahmed is plainly an idoit. He is making it seem that violence towards women occurs only in Nepal. I am pretty sure that such issues occur much more frequently in other nations. Just because of 2 incidents he is making it seem that it's a "Royal family hobby". This is the biggest load of crap I have ever read. Any person with half a brain would not have such a idiotic point of view. You should not use a few bad examples to insult the people of the whole nation. So next time you think of some load of crap to write, think again and keep it to your self.
