At present, India is famous for its manpower. The abundance of well educated, knowledgeable, and inexpensive workers have attracted many international business firms to shift business to India. When it comes to producing such workers, Indian Institutes of Technology or IIT will be at the top. The seven IIT campuses, situated in seven different states of India have helped a lot to uplift India’s image from a developing backward country to a country embracing modern technology.

The number of foreign companies recruiting from different IIT campuses around India has increased significantly. I am quoting from ibnlive.com:

IIT Bombay will place its students in companies like Mc Kinsey, Boston Consultancy Group and UBS for the first time.

IIT Delhi will have recruiters like Barclays Capital, Bain and Company and Opera Solutions on campus this year. The companies will also visit IIT Kharagpur campus for the first time this year.

The numbers of companies visiting IIT campuses have also doubled since last year. So while IIT, Delhi will have more than 300 companies on campus this year, IIT, Bombay is expecting around 225 recruiters.

With just three days down into recruitments, IIT Bombay has already placed 120 students with an average pay packet of Rs 10 lakh.

Now, IIT has another competitor; Indian Institutes of Management (IIM). According to the report, this year, the average salary packets in Ahmedabad IIM campus were Rs. 9.5 lakh. Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) till now, has remained at the leading position in terms of the number of students getting jobs in different companies. Now it looks like the scenario is changing. IIM is rapidly moving at the top.

This is great news for Indian people. Indian students do not have to worry about getting jobs anymore. I live in Bangladesh and the government engineering institutions of our country have many brilliant students. Someday, I hope that foreign companies would also visit our engineering institutes and hire Bangladeshi students.
