2006 is gradually coming to an end. This blog started on 22 March, 2006. So, in this blog, we covered most of the major events that took place in South Asian business. In the next few days, I am going to look back at the major events that took place in 2006.
2006 was an important year for South Asia. This year, pro-democracy movement in Nepal restored the Parliament and started a new era of democracy in Nepal. Bhutan also started its journey towards democracy but in peaceful manner. It was business as usual for Sri Lanka- civil war and violence dominated the news headlines for the country.

India and Pakistan could not improve their relationship in the political front but they could take some important steps in improving economic ties. Indian success in outsourcing and healthy increase in FDI also dominated media headlines.
2006 was not a bad year for South Asia. Hopefully, 2007 will become a better year.
