MORE EXERCISE AND BALANCED LIFE: Indians' favorite NEW YEAR'S RESOLUTION

It’s the beginning of a new year and people around the world are thinking about making a new start in their lives. They want to change their old habits and start their lives differently to make themselves better. This is what makes the New Year’s Eve VERY VERY PROMISING!!! AC Nielsen, one of the leading market research firms conducted survey on internet. Known as the AC Nielsen Online Consumer Opinion survey it was conducted on 25, 408 internet users in 46 countries including of Europe, Asia-Pacific, North America, the Baltics and Middle East. Among Indians, the two most popular New Year resolutions are: exercising more, balance between family and work life. I am quoting from the report published in ibnlive:

With less than few days to go before the end of the year, over half (59 per cent) of the India's online population has already decided on their New Year’s resolutions, with 67 per cent of them promising to exercise more and 74 per cent planning a better home/work balance, according to ACNielsen, the world’s leading market research and information company.

The survey found Indian men to be more in favour of having a New Year Resolution (60 per cent) as compared to women (54 per cent). Another interesting finding that the research shows is that people in India (74 per cent) surpass their Asia-Pacific (61 per cent) counterparts in their desire to strike a better work-life balance in the coming New Year, Sarang Panchal, Executive Director of Customized Research at ACNielsen South Asia, said.

Exercising more is popular among Indians who has reached their 50’s and after they cross 65 their resolution becomes spending more time with their families. However, for younger people balance between work and home is very important. Among Indians under their 20’s, the popular resolution is “Quit Smoking” which would be quite hard to keep.

People want to bring changes to their lives to make it better for themselves and for people around them. Most of the people would not be able to stick to their resolutions but they try their best. How you would you understand whether you could keep your promise or not unless you try out first. It does not matter whether one can keep it or not but what’s the problem to give it a try. Who knows any good thing might happen!! So what is your New Year’s resolution?
