Till now, this had been a war fought in court but now the Daler Mehendi and Yash Chopra issue has come out on the street. Fans of Daler Mehendi burnt posters and effigies of Yash Chopra in a protest.

India FM reports:

Yash Chopra war has taken a new turn. Fans of Daler Mehendi are burning posters and effigies of Yash Chopra as a demonstration of protest against the filmmaker who has infuriated Mehendi. The whole story started when Daler Mehendi filed a case against Yash Raj Films claiming damages. Reportedly the singer had recorded a song for Yash Raj Films’upcoming Jhoom Barabar Jhoom but his voice was later replaced by Shankar Mahadevan on the cassettes and CDs of the film. However, sources at Yash Raj claim that Daler was informed about this move.

Daler has not only filed a case of criminal breach of trust against Yash Chopra but perhaps has also instigated his fans so much so that they are demonstrating their protest against Yash Chopra by burning his posters and effigies.

Both Yash Raj and Daler Mehndi are Punjabis by origin and both of them are highly successful in their respective fields. Yash Raj is one of the most successful film makers of Bollywood. Even today, actors and actresses of Bollywood consider it a great privilege to get into a film directed by Yash Raj productions. They do not bother about money. On the contrary, Daler Mehendi has made the most successful pop album in India. His first pop-album Bolo Ta Ra Ra sold 20 million copies in four months. This is the highest sales of any pop album in history of Indian pop music. For this album, he received Channel V’s Best Male Pop Singer Award.

Both Daler and Yash Raj are very famous personalities. Yes, they might have some problems but that is no reason to bring out protest on the street and burn posters and effigies. I hope Daler and Yash Raj find some solutions about their problem as soon as possible.
